Lesego Senjoba has scooped the Telecommunications Limited (BTCL) and Botswana International University of Science and Technology’s (BIUST) award.
The young engineer from Maun became the first student to win the P10 000.00 and a one-year free 4 Mbps ADSL service of the four-year sponsorship.
Handing over the award, Anthony Masunga BTCL Managing Director said the telco-giant prides itself in technology and saw it fit to sponsor the engineering and technology award.
“Investment in human capital is not just in line with our mandate of making telecommunications available to all at BTC but is also part of the National Human Resource Development Strategy.
“What made our network the widest in and fastest in the market are our people and their drive for growth,” said Masunga.
Masunga said Lesego reminds the company of a bright future in the industry and the country.
Over the weekend, 257 students graduated four were for PhD programmes, 28 masters and 225 undergraduate degrees.
